Today's special at TG HW: roasted fingerling fries with parmesan, $3. Thoroughly delicious.

Two food movies that recently blipped on my radar: Tampopo and Babette's Feast. Have you seen them? I'm going to try to watch them soon. Also, did you see the recent I Am Love? It was the opening film of PIFF and I accidentally walked out on it (short story), but I hear the romantic crux takes place over a plate of food haha (because I think in real life I'd laugh after saying such a thing ... "I hear the romantic crux takes place over a plate of food" ... yeah there's some real interior giggles firing off even when I type it, not sure why, but seriously).

For a split second I was afraid this was the wrong blog and imagined how weird that comment would be if given randomly.

Shawn!! Sorry it's taken me so long to respond. A couple weeks ago I was mid-response at work when my boss stood behind me and asked me if I needed something to do--she sucks.

Anyway, Tampopo is everything. People tend to take liberties using "everything" when really they mean that something is very good, but when you see it, if you haven't already, I think you'll agree that the description fits. I haven't seen I Am Love yet, nor have I seen Babette's Feast. I think I should be a tad embarrassed about the second one...

Have you seen The Stuff? A friend described as a movie about "killer frosting." That's enough to sell me, but I was also sold on The Gingerdead Man (based on title and Gary Busey), and it never got funnier than those two things, so I'd like a reliable vouch.
